Choose a trusted Gynecologist: It is important to choose a trusted and competent Gynecologist who is experienced and has a good track record in delivering babies both through normal delivery as well as surgical procedures. The doctor should be someone the woman trusts and feels comfortable with.
Choose a reputable hospital in consultation with your Gynecologist. Get an idea of various packages available for your delivery.
Regular prenatal check-ups through your Gynecologist are essential to ensure the health of the mother and the baby. A woman should attend all scheduled appointments with her doctor and follow their advice on diet, exercise, and medication.
A birth plan is a document that outlines your preferences for her delivery. This should be discussed with the doctor and the hospital staff in advance so that everyone is aware of your wishes.
Know Antenatal Issues and Delivery Process: You should attend antenatal classes or should consult Gynecologist especially to learn about the stages of labor, breathing techniques, and pain management options. She should also pack a hospital bag with essential items such as comfortable clothing, toiletries, and snacks.
Know the Hospital: A woman should be aware of the hospital policies regarding labor and delivery, such as the use of pain medication, the presence of a support person during delivery, and the hospital's policy on early discharge.
Your trusted companions during delivery or Support persons: A woman should have a trusted person with her during labor and delivery for emotional support and to advocate for her if necessary.
Know About Postpartum Care: A woman should be aware of the postpartum care she will receive in the hospital and after discharge, including breastfeeding support, physical and emotional recovery, and newborn care.
Financial Planning: Last but not the least, It is important to ensure that all financial arrangements are in order before going for delivery, including insurance coverage and payment arrangements with the hospital.
